| Centrally located between
New York and Miami. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Jefferson,
North Carolina. Zaloo’s (www.zaloos.com)

marker 259 and the historic Northwest Trading Post where quaint Glendale
Springs, home of the world famous Ashe County Frescoes, is located.
The State of North Carolina opened New River State Park five miles below our Jefferson location. The Park covers twenty-six miles of the Scenic and Wild part of the River and is a system of three extremely beautiful and remote riverside camp areas each a days canoe ride apart. Zaloo’s has its own exclusive riverside camp accommodating only one or two groups at a time. Did I mention hunting and fishing? The New River has been written up several times in “Field and Stream” for its small mouth, musky, and cat fish. Just for the fun of it we have custom made double chambered safety inner tubes. There is no better way to relax than laying back and letting the river carry you b beneath the flowering laurel and rhododendron. We take pride in our well maintained rental fleet of one hundred and twenty-five ABS canoes and one hundred inner tubes. Got your own equipment? People from all over tell us our shuttle service is the best they’ve ever seen. Zaloo’s sits in the middle of just about the best area for outdoor recreation in the world. The Appalachian Trail cuts through Grayson Highlands State Park and Mount Rogers Recreation Area just north of us. The Virginia Creeper bike trail descends thousands of feet from the top of White Top Mountain and the New River bike trail follows the old New River railway bed for miles. You don’t have to look far for great rock climbing, cross-country and downhill skiing, horse back riding, hiking, and the prettiest out of the way campsites. Give us a call at 800-535-4027
or e-mail us with any questions
you might have about our operation or any other outdoor activity in our
area and we’ll be glad to get you the information.
